There are various monuments that we must mention located in El Rompido, Huelva on the Costa de la luz. The castles and fortresses are still there that helped defend this region of Andalusia in southern Spain in the 15th and 17th centuries. Our trip around the monuments of El Rompido will begin in the Zunigas Castle, built in the early 15th century by Mr. Gibraleon. From there they watched all of the possible accesses coming into Cartaya. It was the perfect spot to defend against incoming pirates. It is a National Monument since the 1949.
We must also mention the Trinitanos Convent, built in the 16th century and restored in the 18th century, after the Lisbon earthquake caused partial damage.
We must also mention the Natural Monumento of the Marismas del Piedras (marshlands). |
